Celebrities and Their Private Lives

celebrities - Taylor Swift Have you ever noticed how some celebrities have no problem sharing their private lives with the public? Do you know there are some celebrities who keep their private lives private? The old tabloids (Do they still exist?) made their money by exposing salacious rumors, true or untrue, about the celebrities they covered.

Some celebrities are either extremely narcissistic or extremely stupid. They’re the ones who don’t care what people think as long as they make headlines. The smart ones know enough to keep their private lives separate from their public lives.

Making Their Politics Known

All celebrities have a fan base, which can be large or small. By disclosing their political affiliations, they stand the risk of aliening a portion of their fan base. That won’t happen when they keep their thoughts to themselves. How much money are they willing to throw away?

What celebrities believe is of no interest to me. The only time I learn anything personal about them is when their antics make the news. I appreciate celebrities who are apolitical, like Neal Schon of the rock band Journey. He criticized bandmates when they met with Donald Trump in the White House in 2017. He served a cease and desist order to a bandmate in 2022 to prevent him from using Journey for politics.

While Donald Trump and Kamala Harris were campaigning in 2024, Bruce Springsteen and Michael Keaton made fools of themselves while publicly supporting Kamala Harris. Perhaps they got paid. Taylor Swift definitely lost some of her fans when she endorsed Kamala Harris. That was evident when she got booed at the Super Bowl on February 9, 2025.

Making Their Religion Known

Although it doesn’t happen often, Hollywood tends to ostracize and disparage actors and actresses who express their religious views. This is especially true when their views conflict with the “woke” environment of Hollywood. Some of those celebrities have left Hollywood voluntarily and permanently.

Christianity encourages people to express and share their faith. Celebrities have to decide when their faith is more important to them than their fame. As a Christian myself, I believe faith is always more important. With enough faith, anything is possible.
